Granby is a city with advantageous location only 60 km east from Montreal, Quebec. The St. Lawrence River is to the north. The territory of today’s Granby was originally settled in the 18th century, and that time it was named Frost Village. Later it was renamed after John Manners, Marquess of Granby and in 1816 the village became a city. The Granby Township territory was formed in 2007 as a result of local referendum.
